Darren Bennett claimed the ‘£75m’ transfer fee would ‘tempt’ West Ham United to sell Jarrod Bowen to Arsenal, he told talkSPORT.
The former striker added that there was “no chance” West Ham could pay a player £75m if he was sitting in the Arsenal management room.
Arsenal have been very busy this summer and they have secured the talents of some notable targets, including Manchester City striker, Gabriel Jesus.
This proves that despite not playing Champions League football in the UAE, they still have the oomph to attract some of the best talent in the country.
The West Ham star winger is another one of those players, with Arsenal’s crazy analyst Bennett sharing his thoughts on these Bowen ties.
“I didn’t know that (about Bowen’s association with Arsenal),” Bent said. “I’m not paying that (at West Ham’s asking price of £75m). No chance.
“Then again, we paid £72m for Pepe, so I was going to lose your hand,” Bent laughed. ’75 million pounds?! I would like to raise your hand.
“When you look at the offensive options that Arsenal have, with Saka and Smith Rowe. But £75m would tempt them, believe me.
“If Arsenal dropped £75m on the table for Jarrod Bowen, West Ham would consider it.”
Arsenal interested in signing Bowen
Bukayo Saka is the undisputed man at Arsenal right after he scored 11 goals in the Premier League last season, emerging from his teenage years during a season the youngster can’t remember.
As Saka swung on one side of London, Bowen was causing havoc in East London, with the 25-year-old scoring and scoring 12 assists in every last term.
They were incredible numbers from the versatile star, but they caught his eye, with Arsenal keen to sign the former Hull City player.
That is Arsenal’s dream, but West Ham United, who are in Europe themselves, will have a resolute “no chance” answer if anyone tries to knock their players.
They want to get back into the top six in the Premier League and their chances will be increased by having Bowen and Rice in the squad, so even silly things may not be able to defeat these players.
