Basic schools are to close at 3:00pm. This was released by GES last week following the reduction of the covid effect in the country. This new time raised a lot of tension and disagreement among basic teachers due to the following reasons.
- Personal Business: Teachers running other business like extra classes, blocking, forex trading and others has become part of lives to work extra to sustain them and their family.
2. Nose mask hazard for more than 5 hours: science has shown it that children wearing nose mask for more than 5 hours poses health threat to their respiratory system.
3. Enough time for marking: teachers teaching over 50 student would require enough time to accurately mark and record. This therefore would demand less contact hours with the pupils.
The government should carefully reconsider the closing time and maintain it at 12:00pm.
