Speaking to The Athletic, Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani spoke about Jack Harrison’s position amid ongoing links with Newcastle United.
As many know, Newcastle are in the market for a new wing right now. The likes of Harvey Barnes, Moussa Diaby, and Harrison have all been linked, but so far, the Magpies have been unlucky in their endeavors.
There are persistent rumors about Harrison joining Newcastle, but according to Radrizzani, there is absolutely no way this deal will go through.
What was said?
The head of Leeds gave a candid answer for Harrison.
“Absolutely not,” said Radrizzani, when asked about the possibility of Harrison heading to St James’ Park.
“There’s no way. Jack stays here.”
Someone else fought the sand
Newcastle’s pursuit of a new wing has become a bit like Groundhog Day, they are simply still being rejected.
Diaby, Barnes, Harrison, Maxwell Cornet and many more have been targeted by Eddie Howe’s side this summer, however, the world’s richest club didn’t get a deal across the streak.
Say what you will about Newcastle’s business so far, but it’s hard not to sympathize with the Magpies on this front.
They are priced from almost every move due to their sheer wealth, and while the new owners want to make a buzz in the market, they are, quite simply, unable to do so.
Fortunately for Newcastle, Allan St-Maximin and Ryan Fraser should both be good enough to help Newcastle get some points on the board in the early kicks of the season, but if Newcastle really want the challenge towards the top of the Premier League they need to add more Quality on the wings.
