‘Con man Albuquerque’ trends after pivotal Better Call Saul scene

*Warning: Spoilers ahead of Better Call Saul Season 6, Episode 12*

After five seasons of petty teasing, Better Call Saul finally delves into the story of Gene Takavitch in Season 6, Jimmy McGill’s alias after Breaking Bad.

With episodes almost entirely black-and-white, we watch how Jen teams up with eagle-eyed taxi driver Jeff, after getting to know the former con man and shady attorney for the criminal underworld.

In episode 12 of Better Call Saul Season 6, things take an unfortunate turn for Gene as Jeff is arrested and his elderly mother Marion finally discovers that Gene is actually the former lawyer and Albuquerque con man, Saul Goodman.

Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 12 With Subtitles

Episode 12 of Better Call Saul Season 6 aired on AMC in the United States on Monday, August 8, 2022.

The episode titled Waterworks proved to be a pivotal episode as it drew viewers’ attention to the whereabouts of Kim Wexler after she split from Jimmy earlier in Season 6.

She now works for a machine gun manufacturer in Florida, but we see her return to Albuquerque to confess her role in the downfall of Howard Hamlin and the eventual death of his widow Cheryl.

In the flashback, we see Kim meet with Saul to finalize her divorce and have a meeting with Jesse Pinkman.

Back in Omaha, Gene narrowly escapes the home of the man with cancer when Jeff panics outside and crashes his taxi into a nearby car after a police car stops behind him.

Jeff is arrested and detained on suspicion of burglary, but Jane goes to work and tries to convince Marion to help Jeff out on bail.

However, Marion uses her new computer to really search for the identity of Gene Takavich.

Marion’s ad for “Being the Albuquerque Man”

In the final scene of Episode 12, Jane arrives at Marion’s house to take her to the police station so she can release Jeff.

However, Marion was growing suspicious of Jane after Jeff chose to call him first rather than call her, explaining how he had previously ended up in all sorts of trouble when he was living in Albuquerque.

As a result, Marion decides to use her new computer to research Jane Takavitch’s true identity, revealing that she found several TV ads for Saul Goodman when she typed “con man Albuquerque” into the Ask Jeeves search engine.

Jane tries to intimidate Marion but she pushes the button on her main alarm system and manages to call the authorities, causing Jane to flee.
