For many fans of the Predator franchise, Prey will be the movie they’ve been waiting for for years. decades up.
Taking a trip down memory lane, 1987 saw the release of a mini movie called Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Directed by John McTiernan, this sci-fi mix pits a group of armed strongmen against an unknown alien threat.
It went down in history as one of the most iconic cinematic landmarks of the 80s. On the other hand, all the sequels and spin-offs featuring the character have been divisive. After two separate AvP shows and three more installments in the main series later, we’ve come to Prey.
There has always been potential for a Predator prequel and that’s exactly what Dan Trachtenberg offers, taking audiences back to 1719 and the franchise itself to its roots.
Since it was revealed on Hulu and Disney+ on Friday, August 5, thoughts have quickly turned to Prey 2. So, does the director have plans for a Prey sequel?
Does Dan Trachtenberg have plans for a Prey On Hulu sequel?
Yes, the American director recently opened up to Time Out about the possibility of a Hulu Prey sequel while revealing that they already had a lot of ideas:
“There are a lot of exciting ideas for what could be next for the franchise. The things that excite me the most are the boldest twists and I think there’s room to do other things that haven’t been done before.”
Although Dan has been vocal about ideas to move the franchise forward, the sequel has yet to be officially confirmed by 20th Century Studios. However, it can be argued that it is still in its infancy and the film’s performance will likely be measured on Hulu and Disney+ before a decision is made to start work on more.
With Prey being the seventh film in the Predator franchise, we can expect there to be more to come, especially given the positive reaction from critical audiences and the general public towards the prequel.

How is Prey 2 set up?
At the end of the movie, Naru (played by Amber Midthunder) uses the Predator’s special technology against him and kills him.
She returns to her tribe with the severed head of a predator and is finally celebrated by her people as a hunter. However, I informed them that they must move quickly as there was still a threat looming near them.
Of course, she could refer to the French fur hunters you encountered earlier in the movie. She has taken down some of them and so has the Predator but there is always a chance because she knows there is more and she has already proven that they are hostile.
On the other hand, you might think that this predator is not the last of them. In fact, Dan Trachtenberg said SFX Magzine [per Bloody Disgusting] That “the predatory creature in this being, this is the first time it has traveled to Earth.” Since this is set prior to the 1987 movie, we know the species is back for hunting.

Naru obtained a revolver from a French merchant bearing the name Raphael Adolini and dated 1715.
This is the same weapon that Lt. Danny Glover Mike Harrigan got at the end of Predator 2 by Predators. This raises the question of how the aliens from the Comanche took it back, likely indicating that more predators have returned to take them after one of them is killed.
