Drake poses in Virgil Abloh’s Off-Road Maybach in Sticky music video

Drake just dropped a music video for his Sticky track referring to designer Virgil Abloh, who passed away in late 2021.

It is the seventh song on his new album Honestly, Nevermind which was released in June and features 21 Savage.

The rapper’s seventh studio album was a surprise release, coming just nine months after his 2021 Certified Lover Boy.

Seven weeks after the album arrived, Drake released a music video for Sticky this week (April 3) and the car he put out has grabbed everyone’s attention.

The video, which has already racked up over 1.2 million views on YouTube, features the stunning Maybach Off-Roader which is a tribute to the much-loved fashion designer.

The video starts with Drake in concert before he heads to the airport, sits on a boat and sings at various other locations.

Then, shortly after halfway through, he stood with Virgil Abloh’s Maybach singing the line about the founder of Off-White.

“Off-road Maybach, Pyrex trap/Virgil is back through boy, damn it,” he exasperated as the camera approached various parts of the car.

The futuristic truck is beige and black and has huge tires, as well as a huge screen inside and rails on the roof.

Before his tragic death in late 2021, Louis Vuitton’s technical director collaborated with Mercedes to design a full range of different cars.

One was a G-Wagon and the other was a limited edition gold and black Mercedes‑Maybach S Class S680, of which only 150 were made.

Virgil also designed an off-road version of the two-tone Maybach, which is featured in Drake’s music video.

Fans are obsessed with Virgil’s design

In the photo, he tagged Virgil, whose Instagram page is still active after his death last year.

Many thought it had to be a Maybach, with one writing “that a Maybach is a dangerous thing” and another adding “definitely Off Road Maybach”.

Virgil passed away in November 2021

The world was devastated when Virgil Abloh died in November 2021 at just 41 years old.

Off-White founder and artistic director of Louis Vuitton menswear has died of cancer. He’s been battling a rare type of cancer called cardiac angiosarcoma in particular since 2019.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a father, husband, son, brother and deeply loyal friend,” his family wrote in a statement on Instagram.

He is survived by his loving wife Shannon Abloh, sons Louie Abloh and Gray Abloh, sister Edwina Abloh, parents Ni and Eunice Abloh and many more dear friends and colleagues.

The famous designer chose to bear his battle out of the public eye, and underwent “many challenging treatments” while “supervising several important institutions covering fashion, art and culture”.
