It was earlier reported that a primary school teacher by name Kafui David has found himself into trouble after going after several students with bushy hair at Akyem Oda in the Birim South District hence set to face disciplinary committee.

According to the Birim South GNAT Secretariat, the above publication being reported by some online portals should be completely treated as fake.

The Ghana National Association of Teachers in the Birim South District came out with the following findings after in-depth scrutiny;

From investigations from all schools and from the four Education Directorates here, there’s

1) No complaint from any police station or parent as such
2). No teacher in any of the District Education Directorates goes by the name David Kafui
We entreat all and sundry to remain calm and to treat the information as total falsehood

MY TAKE ON THE SITUATION EVEN IF IT’S NOT TRUE

In as much as we want to instill discipline in our pupils, I think that it should be done in a way that wouldn’t demean us as Professionals. There are several positive means we can instill discipline in our wards as teachers.
What at all prevented the teacher from contacting the parents of this child to have a tete- a -tete with them if he thought his advice to the child on this has proven futile? If he had done that and it fell on deaf ears I thought he should have left the boy alone once it doesn’t disrupt teaching and learning. On a whole, I believe the teacher erred because what he did undignified the boy and it’s very unfortunate.
