Created and written by Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman, the rom-com premieres on Netflix on Friday, July 29, 2022 and follows Neil as Michael Lawson, a newly opened gay New York City real estate agent. “I think we are in a very lucky time”
The soundtrack is not the only element of Uncoupled that will impress audiences.
Neil Patrick Harris recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly and opened up about the potential significance of the project:
“I find doing an interesting show that has gay content, but that is easy to notice and manipulate by everyone is kind of a step in an interesting direction. I think we are in a very lucky time, at least as actors, to be able to be in Uncoupled because they are not going to be presenting Necessarily a show like this 10 years ago, five years ago,” he said.
He added, “The gay story was the one that would go viral. Young people were the ones struggling with their sexuality and what it means, and that story was told and continues to be told and it’s fantastic.”
Uncoupled is broadcast exclusively on Netflix.
