Jose Enrique hopes Newcastle United can sign Benjamin Cisco’s deal by saying it would be an “incredible” purchase for the club, as he posted on his Instagram story.

Newcastle United kicked off their new season in the Premier League by defeating newly promoted Nottingham Forest 2-0 at St James’ Park on Saturday.

Eddie Howe doesn’t need a striker, from the transfer market, to come and start as he has a proven player Callum Wilson leading the attack line – he scored a superb goal against the Midlands FC.

The issue stems from behind him, not a lot, besides having a number of injuries since joining the club.

Instead of pressing for a top player, the Magpies are looking in the market for young talent, as they did with Hugo Ekitike, who ended up joining PSG.

But it looks as if they’ve now set their sights on the 19-year-old RB Salzburg star, and Sesko and Enrique have reacted with the following message to those rumours.

“What an incredible signing this would be for Newcastle,” Enrique said. “I hope this is true.”

Newcastle can’t count on Wilson

In terms of goals and performance, if Wilson can muster more than 30 starting points in the Premier League, he will be an England international.

There are 16 matches between now and the start of the World Cup so if Wilson has played the majority of those matches, there is no reason why Gareth Southgate shouldn’t consider it.

But the problem he has is to get away from the treatment room, and when that happens, the magpie loses that sophisticated and ruthless nature in that last third

Yes, Joelinton has played as a striker before, but since Howe took him to midfield, the South American star has turned into one of the club’s best players.

Bringing in a younger face this summer will allow this individual to nurture himself in the Premier League and learn from Wilson’s top scorer.

And if necessary, fill in the name of the Englishman if, for any reason, he does not play.
