The Premier League season kicks off with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, and while many are happy to see Tottenham’s new signings in the match against Southampton, there is one summer deal that may not appear this weekend.
Indeed, according to Alasdair Gold, there is a suspicion that Yves Bissouma is heading toward the season opener after he modified his hamstring against Roma over the weekend.
Soma arrived, of course, from Brighton this summer in a £25m deal, and it was seen as a coup d’état at the time.
Sadly, he may have to wait a little longer to make his competitive debut with Spurs.
What was said?
Gold shared the details of Soma’s injury.
“The midfield will be a slight problem in terms of coverage on Saturday. I understand that Yves Bissoma made a hamstring adjustment against Roma. He had snow on his hamstring after the match. He doubts on Saturday which I was told which doesn’t indicate that it’s possible To miss so much more.” Gould said it was more of a precaution but at the moment I was told he doubted it.
no luck
Bisoma may only have been a Spurs player for a couple of months, but he’s already had a streak of bad luck since joining Spurs.
The midfielder contracted Covid during Tottenham’s tour of South Korea – hampering his pre-season preparations, and while he’s been up lately, this injury is another blow.
Bisoma had been hoping to hit the ground running after joining the North London club, but so far, it’s been a pit stop so far for Mali.
The midfielder will eventually become a fixture at Spurs, but he could do so with a bit more luck in terms of injury and fitness.
