The OTT streaming platform and global release date for the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime prequel have been confirmed.
In the weeks leading up to the end of the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen last year, there were reports circulating on social media that a domain was registered online for an upcoming movie.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel story adaptation with the animated series “Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School” and Cursed Child Arc.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0: OTT live streaming platform and release date confirmed
At the recent Crunchyroll Expo, the streaming giant revealed that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be available to view to subscribers through their global animation platform.
Crunchyroll has also confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will premiere for OTT broadcasts worldwide on September 21 – although it hasn’t been revealed if this includes both sub and dubbed options.
The anime streaming service was the only major platform to broadcast the first season of the simultaneous series last year outside of Japan. Crunchyroll is also, in partnership with Funimation, that the team brought the film to theaters in North America and the United Kingdom in March.
The Crunchyroll News page was also the first outlet to share details about the North American theater release, with their press release called “Crunchyroll to Bring JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 Movie to Theaters March 18.”
Fans should note that while Funimation has been distributing the movie outside of Japan in association with Crunchyroll, it is unlikely that the new movie will make it to the streaming service. That’s because Funimation will merge with its peer Crunchy after selling to Sony last year for $1.175 billion. From the Spring anime slate onwards, all simulcast titles will be exclusively broadcast on the Crunchyroll platform.
Fans should also note that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is unlikely to land on platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix, or Disney Plus outside of Japan and other Asian territories for an extended period of time.
