Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp, told the club’s official website that Luis Diaz could have played better against Fulham today.
Klopp has praised Diaz, who joined Liverpool in the summer transfer window, but believes the Colombia international could have done better against Fulham away at Craven Cottage in London in the Premier League.
Liverpool played to a 2-2 draw with Fulham in their opening Premier League game of the season on Saturday.
The 25-year-old started the game to the left of the front three and played for 78 minutes.
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp on Luis Diaz
Klopp told Liverpool’s official website about Diaz: “Lucho is a great player, a great player, but today he had a huge opportunity, a great opportunity.
“Look, for the offensive players on a day like this it’s not really easy because they defend so hard from how they are set up, how they are delivered – and we didn’t play well enough to get them at the right moments.
“But when we were there, you could immediately see how good Lucho is, how one, or crossbar or pole, I don’t know exactly, but close. Yes, a brilliant player but he can play better than today – like all of South America.”
disappointing performance
Liverpool were a disappointment against Fulham at Craven Cottage and, like a few of his teammates, Luis Diaz didn’t have the best of matches in London.
The Colombian did well in the first half, but was quiet in the second and was eventually left out.
Diaz’s goal was disallowed for offside, and he was denied within the Fulham goal.
It was a disappointing afternoon for Diaz, but we all know how good the winger is and we are confident he will be back to his best soon.
