Jose Enrique mocked Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel on Twitter For the transfer fee, they would pay for Mark Cucurella, comparing it to the money Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool paid for Andy Robertson and Costas Tsimikas.

As reported by Sky Sports, Chelsea will pay an initial transfer fee of £52.5m to sign Spain international left-back Cucurella from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion this summer.

Chelsea paid £50m to sign Ben Chilwell from Leicester City in the summer of 2020, Sky Sports reported at the time.

Chilwell is also a left-back and a key player in the England national football team.

Therefore, Chelsea will soon have a left-back for a combined fee of £100m.

That’s a lot of money to spend on just two fullbacks.

Former Liverpool star Enrique noted that Liverpool’s left backs, Robertson and Tsimikas, cost much less.

Former Premier League and UEFA Champions League champion Costas Tsimikas paid £11.75m for Greek international left-back Tsimikas in the summer of 2020 (Sky Sports).
