After a stunning cliffhanger at the end of Season 2, fans are understandably eager to delve into the latest chapter of the supernatural series.

Luke and Key season 2 summary [spoilers]
The second season of Locke & Key arrived on Netflix on October 22, 2021.
The season began with The Lockes believing that they had defeated the evil Dodge, but little did they know that the demonic being was actually living under a new identity, that of Gabe.
Together with possessed Eden, Gabe looks to make his own key, but several failed attempts lead them to move fate among the Locke family.
Duncan Locke is the hidden solution to create new keys, and eventually, Gabe takes him and the Bode prisoner and forces Duncan to forge his demonic key, which turns people into vassal demonic slaves.
To counter the Demon Key, Tyler creates a new key with Duncan called Alpha Key, but when he uses it on Jackie, she dies after being separated from the demon.
After many twists and turns, Season 2 wraps up in Gabe/Dodge’s house where the brothers finally manage to defeat Gabe using the Alpha Key, which kills the demon that possesses them, leading to returning Lucas and Ellie to regain their special forms.
After Jackie’s tragic death, Tyler ends Season 2 by embarking on a road trip, saying that when he returns, he’ll be 18 and have no knowledge of magic, which means he’ll be able to live a normal life.
While the day appears to have been saved, the final moments of Episode 10 see Eden retrieve the Echo Key from Gabe’s room and use it to summon the evil colonial-era British army chief, Frederick Gideon, who then throws her into the well and escapes into the world with the Anywhere Key.

Season 3 of Locke & Key will be released on Netflix on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

How many episodes are in season 3?
The third season of Locke & Key will only have eight episodes.
Veteran fans of the paranormal series will note that this actually makes Season 3 the shortest installment of Locke & Key to date as both Seasons 1 and 2 featured 10 episodes each.
In addition to Season 3 being shorter than its predecessors, viewers will also be disappointed to learn that the third installment marks the end of Locke & Key as Season 3 has been confirmed as the show’s final chapter.
However, this is not a case of Netflix canceling the show. Instead, the plan was always to finish the series after three seasons.
In a statement quoted by Deadline, the show’s co-stars Carlton Coss and Meredith Avril, Luke and Meredith Avril, said: “Once we started working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Luke family and their adventures in the Keyhouse to a satisfactory conclusion. .
“As storytellers, we are grateful to have had the opportunity to tell our version of the incredible story of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez exactly the way we wanted it. However, we reserve the magic keys for our personal use.”
