Along with the other current members of Mumford & Sons, Mumford began his musical career playing drums for Laura Marling while she was on tour. They made the decision to start the band in 2007 after touring with Marling, acquiring performance experience, and experimenting with his early writing.

Mumford’s band’s accomplishments led to his inclusion on the December 2012 Forbes 30 Under 30 list of music stars.
