Speaking on the Football Podcast, Michael Antonio was reviewing the new Premier League season, and he was discussing Tottenham Hotspur.
Antonio, of course, plays for one of Tottenham’s biggest rivals at West Ham United, but despite his apparent bias, the Jamaica international has had Spurs having a good season.
In fact, Antonio is so impressed and terrified of Tottenham’s front line that he thinks the north London side could surprise a few people this season.
What was said?
Antonio passed his verdict on Tottenham.
“Tottenham, the signings they’ve had with Conte, they’re solid, that’s what he does with his teams. They are strong teams. He knows his form, he knows how to play, he has his routine. The signings and the players are progressing more,” Antonio said.
“If Kane goes down they have a son, and if Son goes down they have Kane and Richarlison, Kulusevsky is on the right. Going forward, it looks scary. I feel they are going to surprise people, especially at the end of last season where they progressed so well under Conte.”
ready to go
If a West Ham player is expecting big things for Tottenham, they must be doing something right.
Make no mistake about it, Antonio didn’t want to go live and praise Spurs, but some things are undeniable.
Tottenham have one of the best front lines in the Premier League, and they also have one of the best coaches in the world.
Of course, it will take a lot to catch up with Manchester City or Liverpool this season. After all, they are two of the best teams in the world, but it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Tottenham ended up filling that gap and claiming some titles this season.
