PS Plus August 2022 The essential free games for PS4 and PS5 will be revealed this week, courtesy of Sony.
The official PlayStation announcement will cover everything that is planned for the tech giant’s most affordable level of renewed service.
There’s a good chance we’ll be able to catch some news early via leaks, something that has happened in the previous months.
But with only a few days left before we find out what happens next, it won’t be long either way until we learn about the new PS4 and PS5 downloads that will be available in August.

PS Plus August 2022 free games reveal the time
The August 2022 free PS Plus games for the basic level will be revealed on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 4:30 PM GMT. Unless Sony decides to change its usual format, North American gamers should discover the same news at 11 a.m. ET. Sony will make further announcements in connection with adding more titles to the Services, but they will not be intended for primary subscribers.
The new PS Plus Premium Tier is integrated with PlayStation Now and is updated every month to include new titles for its library. However, while new games are coming, and some will leave the service as well, these discoveries won’t happen until mid-August.
Are there any confirmed PlayStation Plus games?
While there have been no free game leaks on PS Plus August at the base level, there have been a few hints as to what can be planned for Premium customers next month.
Three games from Sony’s back catalog were recently included as part of the European PlayStation blog post for Extra and Premium. This news is reported to have included Dino Crisis from PS One, SoulCalibur Broken Destiny from PSP, and Ridge Racer 2 from PSP could all be part of a future library update.
It has since been removed from the blog post, so it’s possible to add it next month. However, this is still just speculation at the moment and should be taken with a pinch of salt until we hear more. It should be noted that all three titles are classic games which means they could arrive at any point in the future if Sony wanted to.
What is PlayStation Plus Premium, and how much does it cost?
PlayStation Plus Premium is Sony’s most expensive subscription and comes with everything currently available as part of the service, including free monthly games, exclusive discounts, the Plus collection, Share Play, and online multiplayer from Essential, plus free express shipping direct from PlayStation and Game Catalog and Ubisoft + Classics, Classics Catalog, Game Experiences, and Cloud Streaming.
As mentioned above, new premium titles are added every month, some of which will be first day releases. The latest example is Stray, a cyberpunk adventure game that puts you in the role of a yellow spinster that has proven popular with fans and critics alike. And fans can expect more similar deals that Sony will announce in the coming months as part of ongoing Premium support.
