PS Plus August 2022 Free Games Countdown & Final PS4 And PS5 Download Dates

New free PS Plus games for August 2022 are arriving soon, and there’s still plenty of time to ensure you don’t miss any downloads on PS4 or PS5.

As usual, Sony will add three more games to the PlayStation Plus Essential Tier, including Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, and Little Nightmares.

They’re all worth checking out on PS4 and PS5 consoles but you’ll also want to make sure that when the countdown is over, you won’t miss out on any free games from your library.

PS Plus August 2022 Free Games Countdown

The next free PlayStation Plus games will begin releasing on Tuesday, August 2, at 3 PM GMT. This means that players in North America will begin downloading titles at 7 AM PST on the same day.

This depends on how Sony updates the PlayStation Store throughout 2022, and the PlayStation Store is usually the first place to update. Sony consoles follow shortly, though some subscribers may have to wait a little longer, with the rollout expected to be completed by 5pm GMT.

But before all this happens, players will want to make sure their current library is up to date. As long as you keep paying your subscription, you’ll have access to all the free titles you’ve claimed. This means all previous titles from previous versions of free PS Plus games.

And fans will want to make sure the current collection of titles is added to their collection before August 2, when they can still claim Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Man of Medan, and Arcadegeddon. All of these titles remain free for now, but will return to normal prices once the PlayStation Store update is complete.

Going back to the August pick, Sony has confirmed that there are no restrictions on who can download free games this month. This means that you can download all three titles regardless of whether you own a PS4 or PS5 console. Some of the previous updates to the Essential Tier included titles made exclusive to the next generation, although there is a version of the last generation. This has happened in the past with games like Maneater, but Sony appears to have walked away from this practice during the second half of 2022.

While all three games can be played on both devices, Tony Hawks comes as a special Cross-Gen Deluxe bundle, which includes Powell-Peralta’s “The Ripper” skater, unique retro costumes for Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero and Rodney Mullen, and unique retro content. For Create-A-Skater mode. It’s not clear at this time if PS Plus players will have access to the next generation version of Yakuza: Like A Dragon.
