A new romantic movie has arrived on Netflix, and viewers are already obsessed with it. “Purple Hearts” has become a worldwide sensation for the streaming service as fans flock to the story between Cassie and Luke.

Based on Tess Wakefield’s book of the same name, Purple Hearts delves into the story of an aspiring singer-songwriter and Marine Corps soldier. They agree to marry each other to reap benefits, not for love.

Cassie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes six months ago, which has made it even more difficult for her financially because she lives in a small, disjointed apartment. She’s only the waiter, she teaches piano lessons to the homeowner’s daughter, and occasionally plays gigs at a local bar.

Likewise, Luke is in a difficult position. While running to clear his mind, he meets an old friend, Juno. Locke demands payment of the $15,000 he owes, adding to the tension.

Over the weeks and months, Cassie and Luke were forced to stay together longer than they had initially planned. He moves in with her after returning from fighting abroad. Then the duo have to make their fake marriage look convincing.

In the face of complications and work between disagreements, feelings begin to arise between the two. They stick to the vows they made, such as looking after each other during illness and health.

Purple hearts “touching” the hearts of fans

“Purple Hearts” was released on July 29, 2022, which makes it the perfect movie to watch over the weekend.

Within 48 hours, the film took a place in one of the top 10 movies on Netflix worldwide.

In recent days, Purple Hearts viewers have influenced the film. Many call it the “romantic movie of the moment.”

Fans of both actors, Sophia Carson and Nicholas Galitzin, took to Twitter gushed about the “super chemistry” between the two – becoming the duo they didn’t know they needed.

Sophia not only acted in the movie, but also wrote the entire soundtrack for Purple Hearts. That’s why fans didn’t recognize any of the songs that were played throughout the entire movie, because they were original.

Revealing that the film’s script was handed over to her in 2017, the actress told Billboard that she remembers the day “clearly” after she was asked to join the cast. Sophia was asked to act, to become an executive producer, and to participate in writing as well as performing songs in the film.

Sophia told the news outlet, “I definitely was writing from Cassie’s point of view. We wanted to capture this essence of Cassie, this inspiration going to strike based on the things that were happening to her in her life.”

The song “Come Back Home” became an instant hit. Hundreds of thousands of views have accumulated online as fans wait for the 29-year-old actress to drop an entire discography.
