She was born in Portland, Oregano, she is the daughter of Kim and Kent studebaker, the mayor of Lake Oswego ,Oregon was served by her dad, Ashley Brittell from studebaker is her older sister.

Taya founded the Chris Kyle frog foundation, in May 2013 Jesse Ventura filed a defamation suit against Taya for $1.3 million, after appeals, the court threw out part of the lawsuit in June, the case was resolved out of court.
Taya released her autobiography in May 2015 titled American American Wife: A Memoir of Love, Service, Faith, and Renewal.
