The Sims 4 The July 2022 update released today prepares the game for the next big expansion – the high school years.

The Sims 4 July 2022 update patch notes
The Sims 4 July 2022 update today adds a ton of new content that will only be honored when the next expansion arrives on Thursday, July 28.
However, as mentioned above, this is an update for everyone, even those who stuck to the base game. Some of the eye-catching changes include updating the phone’s operating system, which now has a new interface. The good news is that nothing has been removed, and customization should now be easier to use.
EA has also confirmed that Body Hair is now a thing in The Sims 4, including a selection of arm, leg, torso, and back hair for all teen and older Sims. These new options can be found in the Body section of Create a Sim.
Other areas of the game have also been expanded in various ways, including Create a Sim, which “now offers more options to support Sims’ sexual orientation.”
According to EA, “Located in the “More Details” section of “Customizing Gender,” you can now specify which gender identities a Sim is romantically attracted to, whether a Sim is romantically exploring, and what kind of Sim they’re interested in in WooHoo or messing with them if they’re Even interested in Woohoo or Messing Around.”
It’s worth noting that if you don’t change these settings, your Sim will retain the default orientation settings known to The Sims, which means they won’t have any inherent attraction to a particular gender, although their attraction can shift through play, and they will WooHoo or Miss Around with any gender.
Other changes added to the game today can be found in the official patch notes shared below:
- Wants & Fears: This core game update replaces whims and includes a wide variety of desires that Sims want to fulfill or fears that they want to overcome. This feature is turned on by default and you can turn it off in the Play Options menu.
- Curved walls is coming to your collection of construction tools! Place and adjust the medium, large and extra large curved rooms. Builders who are familiar with curved decks, fences, and platforms will find familiar controls for these new walls. Some doors and windows fit better than others, so to find ones that work well on these walls, use the “Supports all curved walls” and “Supports large curved walls and X-Large” filters under Build mode.
