The first Sims 4 update was released for August 2022, adding important bug fixes to the recently launched High School expansion.
And while there isn’t a lot of new content to add to your game today, it’s still necessary to download the patch.
The Sims 4 1.62 update is available across PC, Mac, and console on August 2, and below, you can see what it contains.

What’s in The Sims 4 Update & Patch Notes?
Electronics Arts shared the official The Sims 4 Update Patch notes for August 2, to confirm everything that has changed within the game.
In a new message shared with gamers, EA revealed that today’s patch is focused on adding additional fixes since the previous patch was released. This was the high school expansion, which included a paid DLC drop and stuff for everyone to enjoy.
The good news is that one of the biggest problems that came with the new expansion of high schools has been removed. This bug made it possible for Sims to age quickly and die while playing the game, rendering the new update useless.

A message from The Sims 4 support team from last week explains: “We have completed our investigation into several cases arising from Tuesday’s update including spontaneous aging, unintentional desires, and the emergence of fame for non-famous. We will be rolling out a patch to resolve these issues and more by the end of next week We appreciate your patience.”

The Sims 4 Patch Notes for August 2
- Sims with short or long life spans no longer get significantly younger or age significantly when you leave Create a Sim.
- The Ask to Be Girlfriend / Girlfriend initiative is now targeting the right Sims game.
- Adult Sims no longer tag teens in Social Bunny’s flirting posts.
- All Sims available to travel can now be selected even if they are not currently in the current group.
Get famous
- Sims without fame no longer seem to have them sometimes.

- Sims can now walk through the clutter pile I worked on as a teen.
