Teaching, research, and community service are the mandates of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG). As a result, the Ghanaian University Teachers Association only retained the teaching component and provided the remaining two activities, namely research and community service.

Due to that, UTAG threatens the government that, if their demands are not met, they are likely to withdraw the remaining services. This implies that schools will not operate should the remaining services will be withdrawn.

Students, on the other hand, only have a week to complete their end-of-semester exams. Almost all students are unsure what to do next as a result of this.

This is because, by this time, most university students have spent all of their money and eaten all of the food they brought from their respective homes. In the meantime, the government and the UTAG have yet to reach an agreement on their demands.

According to the UTAG president, if nothing positive comes out from the government on Sunday,15th August Schools will be closed down on Monday 16th August 2021.

In fact, should UTAG withdraw all their service and close down schools, what will happen to the academic year, Or will they write their exams online?
