Paul Sorvino’s daughter Mira paid tribute to her late father in a touching Twitter post, and passionate fans are revisiting her 1996 Oscar speech, which left her father in tears.
The actor is survived by his wife Dee Dee Pinky and three children: Amanda, Michael and Mira. He reportedly took his last breath at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
Paul is best known for playing the role of gangster, Polly Cicero, in Martin Scorsese GoodFellas.

At the 68th Academy Awards in 1996, Mira won an Oscar for her supporting role for her role in the film Mighty Aphrodite.
She began by thanking Woody Allen for her beautiful personality before mentioning her manager, Jan Fox, and friends and family.
However, it was her speech dedicated to her father that moved everyone, including the actor himself.
She said, “And when you give me this award, you honor my father, Paul Sorvino, who taught me everything I know about acting. I love you so much, Dad.”
“I’ve always looked at great performances and been very moved by how much other people felt in their hearts as a kid. I wanted to be an actor who could move others and make others see something about the human spirit, and you made me feel like I’ve taken a small step towards that.”
