‘It was really fun’
Katie Holmes wrote the movie about the pandemic during a real pandemic and opened up about this experience during a conversation with Collider:
“It was really fun, the whole process, to be honest. I was inspired by the movies I was watching back then, like Manhattan and Annie Hall and When Harry Met Sally and Husbands and Wives. I wrote a draft of this thinking, ‘I want to create something we can actually film during the pandemic.'”
She continued, “…After that, I wrote a draft that I sent to a friend of mine, Dito Montell…He’s a great writer. So, I got tips from people, and then it became fun. Then I met Jim [Sturgess] And bring his ideas. It turned into what it is now, but it started with the idea of really wanting to bring some joy to the world.”
