Who Is Demi Minor? Trans Woman Who Impregnated 2 Inmates

A transgender woman in a New Jersey women’s prison reportedly carried two other defendants, prompting authorities to transfer her to another facility.

A spokesperson for the New Jersey Department of Corrections told NJ.com that 27-year-old Demi Minor was transferred from the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women to the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Burlington County last month.

A representative of the new prison system confirmed that Minor, who is serving a 30-year sentence for manslaughter, is the only inmate in a secure section.

On July 15, Minor wrote on the Justice 4 Demi website that she was watching suicide at the new establishment “because I got myself stuck in the truck.” She said she asked to be searched by a DOC officer, but the guards refused.

by sending her to one of the most dangerous juvenile correctional facilities in the country,”[NJDOC] I have violated my right to be safe and free from sexual harassment.” The prisoner wrote that while confined to the Youth Public Services Center, “young criminals who are immature and only stupid in relation to someone like me” would often attack me.

She said that during her brief stay at the New Jersey State Penitentiary, she “was called to him and he more than 30 times” and that “it hasn’t happened to me in the years I’m pretty much referred to as the man.”

A previous letter stated that the minor had been beaten by guards while being transferred from the women’s prison. The DOC has not commented on the allegations but has confirmed to NJ.com that an investigation is underway.

The NJ DOC stated that they are unable to discuss the ongoing investigations. Management takes the safety and security of its colleagues and employees very seriously, and will not tolerate any form of abuse.

The minor’s decision comes after months of silence after it was revealed that she was pregnant with two other convicts while she was being held in the women’s facility.

New Jersey passed a policy in 2021 that allows inmates to be held in facilities that match their gender identity. It’s part of a settlement from a civil rights lawsuit filed by a woman who spent 18 months in a men’s prison and felt she had no choice but to apply for asylum there. The policy must be in place for at least one year.

DOC officials told NJ.com that while they are still enforcing the ban, “the agency is currently studying the policy for housing transgender detainees with the goal of activating minimal revisions.”

“Housing decisions are made within the confines of the settlement agreement, which entails consideration of gender identity and the health and safety of the individual,” the spokesperson said.

According to the source, Minor will be eligible for release in 2037.

The cause of death of Richard Anderson: what happened?

“After my attempted suicide by hanging in a truck on June 24, 2022, I was taken to the male-only Garden State Youth Correctional Facility. Before I was taken to my cell in the dank basement of the prison, I asked the guards if I could be searched by a female officer, which they did. I would be fine.

The lieutenant mocked me when I asked, and insisted that I submit to a naked search by two policemen, or else my clothes would be cut and I would be confined to a dry cell.

The officer said things to me that I felt were inappropriate, and I cried and complied with his orders. Since detainees on probation are housed in the holding ward, not the infirmary, I was assigned a small windowless cell in the detention ward.” Minor documented her ordeal on her personal blog.
