Who was Bill Russell’s wife Jeannine and did they have any kids?

Who was Jeanine, Bill Russell’s wife?

According to Fabwags, Janine was a competitive golfer. Just like Bill, Jenin has also won many competitions over the years.

She finished 64 on the Canadian Women’s Tour in British Columbia and 19 on the Canadian Women’s Tour in Ontario in 2010. In 2010, she was also named Player of the Year.

It is unclear how they met or when they got married. However, on January 24, 2022, the couple renewed their marriage vows and the NBA player shared the same on his social media.

He posted a picture of them, writing: “Happy one year to renew our vow #anniversary to my wonderful wife. Today we realized we got married on the 8th, and renewed our vows on the 24th.”

This was Bill’s fourth marriage. Prior to that, he was married to Rose Swisher (1956-1973), Dorothy Anstette (1977-1980) and Marilyn Nolte (1996-2009).

Do they have children?

Bill and Jenn did not have any children together. However, the NBA player has children from his previous marriage.

He has three children, Jacob Russell, William Russell Jr., and Karen Russell. They were all born during his first marriage.

What do we know about his death?

Bell, aged 88, died among his close friends and family. His wife Janine was by his side. The cause of death has not been released.

However, the news was confirmed via a statement posted on all his social media platforms. The statement read: “Bill’s understanding of struggle is what has illuminated his life. From boycotting a 1961 exhibition game to exposing longstanding discrimination, to leading Mississippi’s first integrated basketball camp in the aftermath of Flammable Medgar. [Evers’] The assassination, to decades of activism that was eventually recognized by his receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom…Bill advocated injustice with a ruthless frankness intended to disrupt the status quo, and with a powerful example, though never his humble intent, to inspire action Collective, self-denial, and deliberate change.
