After Melanie’s death, her partner hosted a celebration of life on behalf of Melanie, and many of her friends and accomplishments congratulated her. Some of the messages read “I am so sorry to all the people who had the opportunity to cross the Mill Road. I have rarely met a woman whose integrity can match.”
Melanie passed away on May 25, 2019 in Salt Lake City. The cause of his death has not been revealed to the public yet, although some sources claim that it was a suicide, but nothing has been confirmed so far.
