A 2016 report in The Sun revealed that Big Brother’s producers turned him off the show after the publication sent them a video showing Tate.
The outlet obtained a video of the world kickboxing champion hitting his ex-girlfriend with a belt.
In the clip, the unidentified woman is seen lying on the bed in her underwear while he hits her with the leather belt. The social media teacher was seen yelling at her and uttering obscenities.
Speaking to outlet Stranger about the incident (as reported by The Sun), Andrew said, “This tape is a weird video and we’re playing a role.”
Tate added, “A longer version of the video shows us laughing and I beat myself up saying ‘It doesn’t hurt’.”
“I am still friends with her and she is in the UK with me now. I would never hit a woman.
Andrew claims that there is another reason for his dismissal
As the former Big Brother contestant told Strange (as I mentioned before Sun): “I think Big Brother is using this [the video] To get me out of the house because they are afraid for the safety of the other contestants.
“They told me if my housemates hit me, I can’t respond and I have to wait for security. But I told them no way. I am a quiet person, but I will defend myself.”
Channel 5 chiefs cut Andrew from the show in June 2016.
A source claimed that Andrew sent the video of him and his ex-girlfriend to friends, but it ended up going viral.
