Why was Six in prison in The Gray Man?

When the Russo brothers are at the helm, you know you’re going to have an experience.

The director duo behind the crowning MCU achievements – Avengers: Infinity War And the game over They’re back in the blockbuster industry, and The Gray Man is said to be the most expensive movie on Netflix so far with a budget of $200 million.

Based on Mark Greene’s 2009 novel of the same name, Ryan Gosling plays “Sierra Six”, who got out of prison by the CIA several years ago so they could make him one of their best mercenaries. However, the CIA wants to end his work after he exposed the agency’s disturbing secrets.

Lloyd Hansen from Chris Evans gets the job done, alerting some of the world’s deadliest killers and tracking his movements.

It’s a wild ride but one of the movie’s most pressing questions wasn’t answered until much later. Why was Six in prison at The Gray Man in the first place?

Why was six in prison in the gray man?

Six eventually reveals that he was sent to prison from a young age for murdering his father.

At the beginning of the film, we see Donald Fitzroy (played by Billy Bob Thornton) visiting Sixes in prison and offering him a lifeline. He basically tells Six that he can get him out of prison if he comes to work for the CIA.

Not only that, but Donald mysteriously hints at why Six was locked up, acknowledging that he would have done the same.

Advance fast and the mystery surrounding his prison is solved. Six begins to recount his childhood, saying that his father constantly pushed him and his brother into violence and difficulty by any means necessary. He was basically training his sons to be bad and destructive people.

Six began to suspect that his father was becoming increasingly hostile to his brother, believing that it would be him or his father. In short, he thought his father might end up killing his brother. Therefore, he took action to save him and shot his father.

Despite the argument that he did what should be done, he was sent to prison nonetheless.

“It took a long time to get there”

During a recent conversation on Good Morning America, Ryan Gosling opened up about moving into the field of big-budget blockbusters:

“It took a long time to get there, but, you know, it was like finding the right person, finding the right character and obviously the Russo brothers directing this, who have been doing this for a decade at Marvel and killing him, I knew I could go Its a crazy ride and I feel comfortable with them while driving.”

As for the genre itself, he says he was a huge loyal fan. He even went so far as to say that the action genre was “probably what made me fall in love with the movies.”

Gray Man Books Scream Franchise

Although neither Netflix nor the Russo brothers have confirmed a sequel, the brothers told Insider that they, as filmmakers, would like to direct another movie.

Fortunately, there are 10 more novels in Mark Greene’s The Gray Man series of novels for adaptation, and the eleventh novel, Burner, is slated for release in 2023. The franchise is certainly there.

The Gray Man is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
