Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized an Amnesty International report which accused his forces of endangering civilians by intentionally creating bases in residential areas.

Amnesty International’s report “Ukraine: Ukraine’s preventing techniques endanger civilians” was launched Thursday. She accused the Ukrainian army of “endangering civilians”, whereas resisting the Russian invasion “by establishing bases and working weapons programs in populated residential areas”.

The report stated these techniques “violate worldwide humanitarian regulation and endanger civilians” by turning “civilian objects into army aims.”

The report provoked an indignant response, with Garry Kasparov, a Russian chess participant and anti-Putin opponent, saying, “Go to hell.”

Maxim Tucker, a former Amnesty worker now on the London Times, known as the report “each weird and deceptive”.

Amnesty had beforehand described the Russian invasion of Ukraine as an “act of aggression that unleashed essentially the most severe human rights and refugee disaster in Europe since World War II”.
