Fans mourn the death of iconic Peruvian actor Diego Bertie

Peruvian actor Diego Berti tragically passed away at the age of 54, after falling from the 14th floor of a building.

Bertie was taken to Casemiro Ulloa Hospital, where he died. Mario Casareto, commander-in-chief of General de Pomperos, confirmed that the accident occurred at 4 am.

The actor is best known for his work in television, film and on stage, and was loved by fans, friends and family.

Mario Casareto tells Exitosa that Bertie is dead. The Latina TV channel also confirmed the news, informing viewers of Berti’s death after falling from the 14th floor of a building in Miraflores.

The Peruvian Ministry of Culture shared the news on Twitter, at a Mail Which reads in English:

“We deeply regret the death of actor and singer Diego Berti, known for his work in film, television and theater. From the Ministry of Culture we express our sincere condolences to his family and friends.”

Who was Diego Berti?

Bertie, born on November 2, 1967, was a musician and actor. He starred in TV series such as Vale Todo (2002), La Ex (2006), and De Vuelta Al Barrio (2017).

The actor is also known for his work in the theatre, such as starring in Leonardo in Blood Weddings, and Segismuno in Life is a Dream..

Bertie’s film credits include No Compassion (1994), Ultra Warrior (1990), Los Andes Don’t Believe in God (2005), and This Smells Bad.

However, he also immersed himself in music, being a singer in the mid-80s. He had a pop band called Imágenes.
