Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC arriving August 2022

Ubisoft has confirmed that the DLC (Forgotten Saga Assassin’s Creed Valhalla) release date has been set for Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

The Forgotten Saga will be part of a bigger update but it’s expected to be something fans are focused on when it drops next month.

The new Valhalla DLC adds a new game mode to AC where you play as Odin, as he faces a number of challenges to conquer Hell. The Forgotten Saga is touted as a roguelike-inspired experience, so replayability is key.

This means that you make your way through the four areas of Niflheim and try to find as many secret hideouts as possible. Finding such a secret location means beating a boss, but it will also give you a permanent upgrade to make your next run easier.

As you might expect, you won’t be able to access the gear you’ve unlocked from the main game, and that means you’ll have to explore the different map areas to make sure you find all the secret merchants and unlock the best gear combinations.

Ubisoft has confirmed that gear sets will remain locked, while weapons for each half will be randomized. This makes gear more important to install, and due to the nature of each area, you’ll need to make calculated decisions. There will be no option to back out in Forgotten Saga, so fans will need to make sure they are making the right choices.

There will also be new side quests to unlock during each run and a good chance that characters from your past will appear to take on Odin regarding what has happened in the game so far.

A message from Ubisoft adds: “Forgotten Saga DLC – Prepare for the biggest challenge yet in the new free-to-play mode, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Forgotten Saga. Immerse yourself in this rogue-lite-inspired experience as Odin battles Hill to conquer a sudden fate.”
