On December 3rd, 2021, the WSJ_manga page appeared on Twitter mentioned That both the manga sequel and the anime adaptation will premiere in 2022. This will be confirmed at this year’s Jump Festa event in Japan, where both the anime and manga series were largely shown as special panels.

Fortunately, at MAPPA’s recent live event, it was confirmed that the next anime will be released in October 2022 along with a brutal new trailer – see below.

A more specific release date has unfortunately not been shared, but HITC expects Chainsaw Man to premiere on Sunday, October 2nd, or Sunday October 9th – as Sunday’s schedule is usually the perfect broadcast slot for adult anime.

there Rumors About the anime adaptation will span two cycles; However, this has not been confirmed by an official source. The court is a three-month programming block, where rumors state that about 24 episodes will be produced, from October 2022 to March 2023 – assuming both broadcasts will run back-to-back.

The good news for international fans is that Crunchyroll recently confirmed that the new anime will be streamed across their platform at its domestic premiere.

MAPPA will be moving the series, one of the largest studios operating in the animation industry today, which means that the team can dedicate a significant amount of resources towards animation; It is arguably the most time consuming part of any series. However, this has sparked an interesting conversation about how much computer-generated animation can appear in Chainsaw Man, see below.

Unfortunately, fans are starting to get nervous due to the recent “leak” from Twitter user “rcco_r0nd0” explaining how CG animation will work in the CSM anime.

according ‘rcco_r0nd0In a now-deleted tweet, production will be 50% generated animation and 50% 2D art; But they will be used to emphasize backgrounds rather than characters or actions.

“Unlike SNK for example, CG is used very cleverly. Let’s say that in terms of animation it is inverted. You prioritize traditional animation without underestimating CG.” – User ‘rcco_r0nd0’, via Twitter.

However, if the new trailer is anything to go by, the CG elements of the new Chainsaw Man series are sure to impress as MAPPA is looking to continue its momentum (and reputation) in producing a truly beautiful anime.
