We are now on the cusp of an open beta release of a Warner Bros. title. The new free one, Multiversus, has many players wondering if a PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership is required.

Does Multiversus Beta Require PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold Membership?
Fortunately, Warner Bros. Games in the FAQ on their website that the game will be really free. It states that “Neither a PlayStation Plus subscription nor an Xbox Live membership is required to play MultiVersus.“
Although the game is free to download and does not require a paid membership, there will be paid functions within the game.
Warner Bros. confirmed. There will be a premium currency called “Gleamium” that can be used to unlock characters as well as a Premium Battle Pass with the start of Season 1 on July 9.
However, it should be noted that all characters and Battle Pass items can be unlocked without paying a penny, and it may take a little longer to do so.
Players can also purchase Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Founder Packs which include items such as character unlock codes, battle cards, Gleamium, a unique nameplate, and exclusive emblems.
