Hitman 3 Ambrose Island’s release date is fast approaching, and it won’t be long before a new map update is released and available for exploration.
Developers IO Interactive continues to support the latest Agent 47 game with new content and things to do a full year after its original release.
This week sees the addition of Ambrose Island, and there’s good news for Xbox Game Pass owners.
With Hitman 3 available as part of Microsoft’s subscription service, it’s a great way to experience the game. However, most of the time, members lose out on new DLC content due to the nature of the way Xbox Game Pass works.
The good news is that IO Interactive has confirmed that all Hitman 3 owners, including Xbox Game Pass subscribers, will get the site for free.

When is the new Ambrose Island Hitman 3 map coming out?
IO Interactive has confirmed that new Hitman 3 Ambrose Island Map content will be released on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. As noted above, this free content will be available across all platforms at no additional cost.
IO didn’t say when the new content will be available for download, though previous launches have started at around 6am PT, and 1pm GMT, if you live in the UK. However, it would be best to keep an eye on Hitman’s official social media pages to make sure you are up to date with the latest news.
A new trailer for the new Island DLC is available, but there are still plenty of details kept under wraps for those waiting to play.
IO has confirmed that the uncharted island of Ambrose will be available for exploration as Agent 47, with the story centered on helping an old friend correct his mistake. The tropical island is described as a hidden cove, home to a dangerous pirate guild operating in the Andaman Sea. IO has joked that there are a lot of hidden secrets, but it’s unclear how many will be found later this month.
Ambrose Island will be a fully explorable sandbox location with many new objectives, gameplay opportunities, challenges and unlockable rewards. It’s an impressive update to drop free DLC, and there’s a good chance other technical changes will be made as well.
Full patch notes are expected to be shared after the release of the new Ambrose Island DLC, and this is expected to contain any other modifications made to the game, existing missions, or weapons.
Here’s what IO Interactive has so far said included in Game Update 3.120: “Alongside the new location Ambrose Island, we will also have an update for HITMAN 3 arriving on July 26th. This update will not only give you the new location, but also expose some issues reported by the community. And some QoL improvements. Patch notes for Game Update 3.120 will be available on July 26.”
