The eighth day of the committee’s hearing on January 6 saw Clark Kent, aka Superman, steal the show. The mystery man, later identified as Alex Wollet, appears to be “not single.”
Netizens became furious on Thursday, July 21, after several photos and videos of the lookalike superhero began circulating on Twitter. The mysterious man sat in the front row behind witnesses Matthew Pottinger and Sarah Matthews and stole the hearts of many viewers.

Who is Clark Kent from the January 6 session?
Clark Kent’s lookalike from the committee’s hearing on Thursday, January 6th is Alex Wallet.
He is a 23-year-old medical student from Youngstown, Ohio.
Alex, who is 5 feet 10 inches tall, graduated from Cardinal Money High School in 2017. He played basketball and was photographed wearing the number 15 jersey while sporting a Justin Bieber-inspired haircut.
He went on to study Neuroscience at Ohio State University and currently lives in Washington DC. TMZ reports that Alex is currently completing a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health.
As the attention swirled on the internet, Alex actually made his Instagram account private. At the time of writing, he has more than 7000 followers on the platform and no posts.
Journalist Yashar Ali says Alex Woollett is not single
American journalist Yashar Ali, who has contributed to HuffPost, NBC News and New York Magazine, took to Twitter after Alex Wollet went viral and joked that he learned that the January 6 audio hearing.
He tweeted that Alex is “not alone,” sending a message to all the singles hungry for Clark Kent’s likeness.
“The good-looking man behind Pottinger is not single.” He said. “That’s all I’m going to say and that’s all you need to know!”
Yashar, who was able to see all about the attention the 23-year-old was getting, Tweet later: Leave him alone!!
The journalist has more than 722 thousand followers on Twitter.
Superman lookalike steals the show on January 6th session
Several viewers who tuned in to watch the eighth day of the January 6 session were distracted by the presence of a Superman lookalike. Here’s how a few of them interacted on Twitter…
“I can’t help but laugh thinking how the Clark Kent-like man behind Pottinger would come out of this hearing and find out that he’s become a national craze,” One Twitter user wrote.
