Justin Pierre James Trudeau, born December 25, 1971, is a Canadian politician who has been the Leader of the Liberal Party since 2013 and the 23rd and current Canadian Prime Minister since 2015. Trudeau, the eldest son of Pierre Trudeau, is the second youngest Prime Minister of Canada after Joe Clark. He is also the first child or relative of the former prime minister.
The Cannabis Act, which he signed into law during his first term as prime minister, legalized marijuana for recreational use. He also attempted to reform Senate appointments by creating the Independent Senate Appointments Advisory Board and implementing a federal carbon tax.
