Raid for Destiny 2’s return for Season 18 has been confirmed, and its release date is only a few weeks away.
This is the news that Bungie shared today as part of its latest TWAB post. As always, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding which raid will return.
But until we learn more during August, here’s the latest news regarding Destiny 2’s next raid date.

Destiny 2’s new raid update for August
Bungie has confirmed that the next Destiny 2 raid coming to the game will be pulled from the Content Vault.
That means Season 18 will start with something familiar, although Bungie won’t share what it will be like now.
We know it will be a thing of the game’s past, but the full details won’t be shared with the Guardians until August 23. This is when Season 18 begins and also when Team Destiny hosts a full reveal.
A message from Bungie TWAB explains: “Appearing in Season 18 will be our second goal to take out a raid from the Destiny Content Vault and this time it will be… [REDACTED]. Sorry, we’re keeping the reveal of the upcoming Destiny 2 raid on Destiny 2 on August 23.
“But we wanted to make sure you had time to make any necessary arrangements to be ready on day one. So ask to stop work, hire a babysitter, but don’t give up on school please, your education is important.”
This Legacy Raid may not have a name yet, but Bungie has confirmed that it will be published at 10 AM Pacific on August 26, 2022. It will be interesting to see how this returned content fits into the broader plan put in place by Bungie, which keeps most of its plans under wraps. for the rest of 2022.
The returning Destiny 2 Raid will also come with some slightly updated rules, including the following changes:
- The raid will start with contest mode enabled for 24 hours.
- You’ll need to be at 1560 Power to be maxed out in all matches.
- Clearing the raid with the active competition mode is the first step to accessing the new challenge mode in the manager and the special victory to complete all challenge wins in each confrontation.
- Completing the Secret Triumph, a curated list of challenges in this newly unlocked challenge mode, will be how the Fire Team crosses the world’s first finish line and claim their prize.
- To enforce the requirements for victory in Challenge mode, your team will scan if you fail the conditions for success during any confrontation.
