Go big or go home. That’s the name of the Netflix game with The Gray Man, a massive $200 million movie that features some serious talent behind it.
The streaming device is becoming increasingly prolific with its cinematic content, delivering some of the year’s most notable efforts to date. However, their biggest to date comes courtesy of the Russo brothers, a director duo best known for their acting. Avengers: Infinity War And the game over.
Their efforts in the MCU have proven more than they can channel the boldness of action, and The Gray Man offers an impressive array of stylized set pieces.
Ryan Gosling plays Sierra Six, a CIA assassin who is hunted by his own organization after discovering the secrets of the agency. Lloyd Hansen was tasked by Chris Evans to bring him down. However, the other’s identity was left a mystery, encouraging fans to wonder about the old man in The Gray Man.
The old man pulls the strings
Diving into the mystery, we’re reminded of a scene in which Lloyd talks with CIA Director Denny Carmichael (Regé-Jean Page) and asks if the “old man” knows he’s been hired to take on the Sierra Six job. However, Chief Lloyd does not address who the old man is and simply says “Heads will roll”.
It is strongly suggested that the old man ranks far above Carmichael and CIA agent Susan Brewer (Jessica Henwick) later asks Carmichael the same question as Lloyd: Does the old man know?
However, it does mean that they will lie about Lloyd’s appointment to avoid repercussions.

Gray Man viewers react to the old man’s mystery
At the end of the movie we never know who they’re hinting at.
However, it is suggested that they are the real villain and certainly the most powerful in the world of The Gray Man.
Therefore, the audience reacted to the theories while some also criticized the film for ignoring the true identity of the mysterious character.
