There is no National Service in GES-Portfolio Assessor

After going through the thick and thin in the four walls of the College of Education coupled with the writing of numerous examination and subsequent passing of licensure examination, the best thing GES and NTC can do is to give every newly trained teacher a smooth process leading to employment.

But the story has been different so far. In one of the audios I listened to recently, i came across emphasized the fact that, there is no National Service in the Ghana Education Service.

The explanation has to do with the fact that, what newly trained teachers are going through is an induction process and not National Service and hence should be treated a such.

In the said audio, it emerged that National Service Secretariat deemed it appropriate to give an allowance in order to ease the induction process.

According to the portfolio assessor, before one can qualify to be assessed, he or she has to pass all College papers and then pass the teacher licensure exams.

Passing the teacher licensure exams will guarantee you the opportunity to go through the induction process before being employed by GES.

What do you think by this?
