The $1.28 billion Mega Millions prize was withdrawn on Friday, July 29. Predictably, people all over America are waiting to see if someone has managed to win the big money, and if so, where they are from.
Mega Millions recently announced that the winning lottery has gone from $1.1 billion to $1.28 billion with a selection of $747.2 million in cash.
The winning numbers in the lottery are 13, 36, 45, 57, 67 and a huge ball of 14. The same result was announced tonight at 11:00 PM EST (10:00 PM CST / 8 PM PT) .
The $1.28 billion lottery drawing on July 29th is the second biggest prize since Mega Millions started in 1996.
Has anyone won the Mega Millions Jackpot on July 29th?
According to the official Illinois Lottery website, there is a Mega Million lottery winner in the state. The site shows that the winner’s ticket is worth a $1.28 billion prize because his ticket matches all five numbers plus the giant ball.
The site also lists other winners, and shows that there are one winner of the million dollar prize, seven for $10,000, 223 who won $500 and 607 who took home $200. The list goes on to reveal more winners.
However, the results for other countries have not been announced.
The Delaware State Lottery website shows a total of $1.7 billion to win the next jackpot, indicating that no one has won it there.
Here’s how the Mega Millions jackpot works
Mega Millions draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM ET.
While drawing, five white balls are drawn from a group numbered from 1 to 70, while one gold ball is drawn from a group numbered between 1 and 25.
You are the winner if the numbers in one of the rows on your ticket are the same as the numbers on the balls drawn on that date.
Mega Millions states on its website that the total chances of winning are 1 in 24, which is about 4.17 percent.
However, there are nine ways to win the prize, which means that you are still lucky. Prizes range from $2 to jackpot money, which in tonight’s case was a staggering $1.28 billion.
If no one wins money on the drawing date, it will be added to the next grand prize.
What happened to the $830 million fee on Tuesday?
While many lottery ticket holders were anxiously awaiting the results on Tuesday, July 26, unfortunately, there were no jackpot winners. Then the amount was added to the next draw, making the jackpot $1.02 billion.
On Tuesday, the painted white balls were numbered 7, 29, 60, 63 and 66, and the yellow huge ball was numbered 15.
Although Tuesday’s jackpot prize was untouched, nine lucky ticket holders took home the second prize of $1 million. One of them had a Megaplier – therefore, they earned $ 3 million.
