release date MultiVersus Season 1 is very close and the good news is that it will finally allow fans to play and unlock Ranked Mode.
The open beta is now available to download and play for free on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. New characters like the famous Lebron James have arrived, and they’re more than ready to debut with the game’s first season.
While the arrival of more new characters is exciting, so is the ability to play more competitively.

How to play ranked in MultiVersus
You will be able to open and play in ranked mode MultiVersus Starting August 9.
This is the full release date of the game with the start of the first season. Once the first season comes around, you will be able to play the competitive option by following these steps:
- Start MultiVersus
- Select Play
- Click Connected
- Choose Workbook Found next to Robots and Normal
Classified mode options have not been revealed at the time of writing, but it is assumed that they will be the same as normal match types:

Aside from unlocking competitive play, the game’s first-ever season will see Rick from Rick and Morty appear. Rick has appeared in gaming lobbies, but he won’t be playable until next Tuesday.
Morty will also become playable, but it won’t arrive until sometime after August 9. Meanwhile, Rick and Morty’s new map, Cromulons, is now live because the game’s community completed the 10 million episode challenge in just three hours.
